It’s been a while since I’ve visited with Vince, Mary, Nic, Juan, and our friends at the B-Movie Cast. But I love The Brain That Wouldn’t Die so much that they invited me for the first ever three-guest (plus Vince & Mary) show.
While you’re there, you can help support the podcast by using Vince’s Amazon Search Box to grab some goodies. (It costs you nothing, and a portion goes to the B-Movie Cast.) You can even search for my new book White Zombie, which should be available in print as well as e-book form in the next day or two.
Of course, if you want to go right to White Zombie, you can click here to get White Zombie for all e-formats, or here to get the Special Edition — including recreated script — for all e-formats. Additionally, Kindle users can get White Zombie here and the Special Edition here.
What are you waiting for? Listen! Read! Enjoy!
Hello Steve,
As a fellow fan of “Brain That Wouldn’t Die” I was very interested to track down some behind-the-scenes information on the film’s 1959 production. In particular, a neat photo of the Detzmer mansion near Sleepy Hollow, NY, which was used as the exterior of Dr. Cortner’s “country place.” The photo was taken shortly after its owner passed away in November, 1958. I also have a color photo of the site today (the mansion burned down in 1971). Also an MP3 of the awesome theme music, “The Web.” Hit me up if you’d like me to send any of it over!
I’m betting a lot of B-Movie Cast (and Monster Kid Radio) fans would love to see the picture. Why not send it to Vince or post it on the B-Movie Cast and/or Monster Kid Radio Facebook pages? (Which you should join, if you’re on Facebook.) Why share with just me when you could share with the world? 😉
Is there any place where one can download the screenplay for THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN’T DIE?
If there is one, I’m not aware of it. Sorry. If you turn it up, let me know!
The character of “Brunette Stripper” was played by my wife’s cousin (who is now 95)
I’ve only seen stills of the “recently discovered nude scene here” .. is there a Video of it?
The nude version of the camera club scene is included on both the DVD (4 Movies for You) and the Blu-Ray edition of THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN’T DIE. And if your wife’s cousin is still sharp, I know at least a couple of interviewers who would love to talk to her about that film!
